About these figures

Typical means the median state-funded school in England. In the bars, the fill is this school and the black line is the typical school.
Scaled scores: 100 is the expected standard and 120 is the top.
11+ pass rate: passing isn't the same as a grammar place, and not every child sits the test, so the share passing depends on who chose to sit. Small numbers are hidden by the council as published. How grammar admissions work.
The DfE publishes applications figures only for entry to Reception and Year 7, and a junior school takes pupils at Year 3. The council's admissions team publishes how many applied and the furthest distance offered.
Living nearby doesn't guarantee a place. Admissions are set by the council or the school, and rules such as catchment, siblings and faith decide who gets in: check its admissions policy and how far away the last places went in recent years.
Sports facilities, not results: there is no national data on schools' sporting success.
Spending per pupil mostly follows funding for deprivation, special needs and London weighting, so higher isn't the same as better. Small schools and sixth forms cost more per pupil.
